Tibor Rubin

Tibor Rubin is the only holocaust survivor in history to be awarded

The Congressional Medal of Honor.

He is a True American Korean War Hero but because of an anti-Semitic superior

it took 55 years to receive his medal.

I wrote this song for him

and created the following music video based on his life and how he earned this honor to honor him. 

Tibor Rubin's memorial was held on

May 5, 2016 at the City of Garden Grove Community Meeting Center.

May 5, 2016 was National Holocaust Remembrance Day. It was 5 months to the day since his passing, exactly 1 year since the release of his biography and 71 years to the day since his release from a Nazi Concentration camp. That's why we chose May 5, 2016 for his memorial. 

I am very grateful to Sharon Violano, Veterans Chairman and Greg Pitta, Sound Engineer at Elks Lodge #1952 for allowing me to share my presentation about my dear friend Tibor Rubin.

A few minutes before I started, I was told that my time would be cut by 15 minutes. There was not enough time to panic. So, I shot from the hip, spoke from the heart, had no script and made a few mistakes. 

I hope you learn something you didn’t know and I hope you are encouraged to learn more. 

Someday there will be a movie about this

Tibor was a very humble man who loved his adopted country.
